It seems there had been plans for a museum on the site of Ras Shamra-Ugarit.
This was news to me. The plans outline a beautiful, mid-century modern building located hovering over Court V of the Royal Palace, supported by 24 pillars and covering 602 square meters. Access seems to be from a staircase from beneath the museum. Inside the museum would have been an entry salon, two exhibition halls, and an observation point looking over the courtyard. The profile in the schematic seems to indicate that the northern wall of the museum would have been composed of open brickwork.
