Hi! I’m Amer, a Chemistry major here at UChicago born and raised in the city. I enjoy writing both the anatomy and chem lab exams for our invitationals even if I was more of a mathlete in high school. You may hear me start your UChicago admissions tour with my Chicago expertise, fun facts about random electives, or Science Olympiad on campus. I love exploring the natural treasures of Eastern Europe, and you can find me training for road races along the lakefront all year round!

Young High School from 8th-12th grade, where I was also the Written and Laboratory Events Coordinator. My favorite events were Experimental Design and Disease Detectives. Outside of SciOly, I’m a research assistant and play ultimate Frisbee. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and trying new restaurants with my friends.

Hello! I’m a 3rd year math and computer science student, and I attended Lane Tech College Prep here in Chicago. There, I was part of my Science Olympiad team and, during my time as a member, participated in events like Codebusters, Detector Building, and Wifi Lab. In my free time, I watch a lot of movies and like to argue with my brother about Chicago sports.

Hi! My name is Zumi, and I’m a first-year physics and computer science major from Springfield, VA. I participated in Science Olympiad at Thomas Jefferson High School where I did Tower, Air Trajectory, Optics, and WiFi lab. Outside of STEM, I’m a big reader and love to play card games.

Hi! My name’s Sydney, and I am a first year Chemistry and Linguistics major! I went to Guyer High School in Denton, TX before coming to Chicago. Here, I am also apart of the chamber orchestra in addition to Science Olympiad. Some of other my interests are language learning, all things Peanuts (the comic, not the food), Jane Austen, music in general, and my favorite Sanrio character: Pochacco!
