Diversifying the Classics has created a community of scholars, translators, and professional companies to adapt and perform Hispanic classical theater. The project has enlarged and diversified the canon of the ‘comedia’ tradition and engaged the heritage of Latino communities in Los Angeles. More about Prof Fuchs’ project can be found here: http://diversifyingtheclassics.humanities.ucla.edu/
This event is sponsored by The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, The Department of Comparative Literature, The Center for Latin American Studies, The Committee on Theater and Performance Studies, and the TAPS Workshop
