Aaron Turkewitz
Ciliate Guy
Aaron is a professor in the department of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Committee on Genetics, Genomics, and Systems Biology, as well as the Committee on Microbiology. He supervises the lab including the orchids and succulents. Daniela Sparvoli
Postdoc Extraordinaire
Daniela joined the lab in 2014, but she has worked with ciliates beginning with her graduate education at the University of Camerino, Italy. Her current research focuses on the mechanisms of mucocyst formation in T. thermophila.

Lev Tsypin
Benevolent spectre
Lev joined the lab in 2014, as a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago. His research focused on the bioinformatic inference of gene functions in T. thermophila and developing reverse genetics tools for the diatom Seminavis robusta.
