AMY TIAN
Co-President
Amy is a fourth year undergrad from the Chicago suburbs majoring in Biology (Ecology and Evolution) and Public Policy. She is fascinated by biodiversity and biogeography, and aspires to combine evidence-driven research with effective environmental policy in the future. Outside of PSI, she is a nationally-award winning artist who enjoys painting, photographing, and designing for a variety of arts organizations on campus. Since joining PSI her first year, she has loved being in this community that actively works towards creating long-term, local change and is so excited for the year ahead!
TERRA BAER
Co-President
Terra is a third year undergraduate from Albany, California studying Environmental and Urban Studies and Law, Letters, and Society. This summer, Terra worked at Earth Law Center, where she worked with civil society leaders to establish Rights of Nature laws around the world. She is currently passionate about podcasts, fungal networks, late Devonian tetrapods, and anything periwinkle. Last year, Terra greatly enjoyed working with PSI members to improve sustainable practices in and around the UChicago community, and she is thrilled to further the group’s efforts this year as Co-President!
AARYAV NAGPAL
Treasurer
Aaryav is a third year Economics and Public Policy major from the Chicago suburbs. On campus, he is involved with Campus Catalyst, the Community Programs Accelerator, Public Policy Research, and APO. He is passionate about NGOs and the social impact world and has worked with dozens of organizations from the grassroots to foundation level. He joined PSI because he is passionate about sustainability and how organizations can work to tackle environmental issues from all angles. He is excited to be a part of the board and get more people interested and passionate about sustainability.
SOPHIA CORNING
Vice President
Sophia is a fourth-year Environmental & Urban Studies and Public Policy double major from the north shore of Boston MA. She is passionate about climate action, particularly how nonprofits and government work together at the city level to promote climate policy. A member of PSI since her first year, she was formerly the project leader for Reduce Reuse Recycle (which has since merged with another project group to form Campus Waste Reduction). She is so excited and grateful to be a member of PSI’s board this year!
MERCER WINER
Social Media and Events Chair
Mercer is a third year from New York majoring in Biological Sciences on the Life, Ecosystems, and Environment track with a specialization in Global Health. She is also completing a minor in Health and Society. Specifically, she is interested in the intersection between human impact on the environment and health. Eventually, she plans to conduct environmental health research on a global scale. Mercer joined PSI as a first year in hopes of contributing to sustainability initiatives on campus and encouraging her community to care more about the environment. Outside of PSI, Mercer works on research involving global road traffic injuries; enjoys any outdoor activities like hiking, biking, skiing, and swimming; and watches copious amounts of stand-up comedy.
SHANNON DAVIS
Secretary
Shannon is a third year Environmental Science major from Atlanta, Georgia. She is fascinated with chemical oceanography, earth system models, and climate change mitigation plans. She is also very interested in the intersection of environmental issues and corporate responsibility and hopes to make a substantial change in this space. Outside of PSI, Shannon is involved in Maroon Mentors, Odyssey Advisor Committee, and Experimental Station (a Southside non-profit). Throughout her years of membership, Shannon has enjoyed being in a group that prioritizes both community and long-term environmental change and is ecstatic to see what this year will bring!
