The Biomolecular NMR Facility houses two spectrometers: a Bruker AVANCE IIIHD 600 MHz (14 Tesla), and a Bruker AVANCEIII 500 MHz (11.7 Tesla). The instruments are all optimized for acquisition of large data sets necessitated by multidimensional NMR of isotopically labeled macromolecules. They are not capable of imaging or performing experiments on solids. Signup must be requested in advance.

All instruments share the following features:

  • Four RF channels (i.e., capable of 1H / 13C / 15N / 2H experiments)
  • Waveform generators on three RF channels (1H, 13C, 15N is our standard configuration)
  • 50 W 1H amplifiers and 300 W decoupling amplifiers
  • Oversampling with digital filtering and quadrature
  • Temperature control ranging from -20 C to +150 °C using dry compressed air
  • A complete suite of biomolecular NMR experiments, updated regularly
  • One spectrometer equipped with a SampleXpress sample changing robot.

The spectrometers currently have the following equipment:
