Maria Adelaida Martinez
COE Fellow – Graduated June 2023
Background
Maria Adelaida Martinez received a Ph.D. from the Harris School of Public Policy at The University of Chicago. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes-Colombia, where she also worked as a researcher. She is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Development Innovation Lab, University of Chicago. She will join Bentley University as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2024.
Research
Her research interests focus on development economics and education. Currently, she is studying how shocks to migration flows in and out of educational systems in Latin America affect children’s schooling outcomes and parents’ decision-making.
