Friday, Oct. 5: David Cantor-Echols on the almojarife Yuzaf de Écija and the problem of Jewishness under Alfonso XI of Castile

The Medieval Studies Workshop is pleased to invite you to its first meeting of the year, to be held Friday, October 4, at 12pm in Wiebolt 207.

David Cantor-Echols, PhD student in History, will discuss his paper “‘Sitting at the king’s gate’: the almojarife Yuzaf de Écija and the problem of Jewishness in the administration of Alfonso XI of Castile.”

We will begin the workshop with a response from David Reher, PhD student in Romance Languages and Literatures. Coffee and tea will be provided. Attendees are invited to read the pre-circulated paper and to bring a lunch.
