MEHAT is pleased to begin its Spring quarter programming. While the Workshop schedule is still tentative, we look forward to three special events this quarter.
On Thursday, April 18, Serdar Sengul, a visiting scholar from Harvard University, will arrive on campus to speak on Kurdish madrasas during the Ottoman modernization process.
From May 3 to May 5 in Ida Noyes Hall, we will hold the 28th Annual Middle East History and Theory Conference, featuring over one hundred panel presentations from across the field of Middle Eastern studies.
On May 29, we plan to hold a roundtable on multilingualism and translation involving faculty from Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Comparative Literature, and Cinema and Media Studies.
Our workshop schedule this quarter will be posted as those dates are finalized. Please note that we have changed our usual workshop time to Thursdays at 12:00 noon.
