We recently published a new research article, “12-Lipoxygenase inhibition delays onset of autoimmune diabetes in human gene replacement mice,” in JCI Insight. Postdoctoral fellow Titli Nargis, PhD, led the study, which showed that VLX-1005 (a human-specific 12-LOX inhibitor) delays autoimmune diabetes in mice harboring the human gene for 12-LOX. This mouse model provides a new way to study the effects of human 12-LOX in the context of autoimmune diabetes.
