This year we’re looking at applying behavioral economics to drive consumer behavior which we will be achieving by designing and executing a natural field experiment. This quarter will focus on familiarizing you with the concepts of behavioral economics and key research and data analytics methods used to test it.

Week 1-3: Key concepts in behavioral economics (biases, heuristics, prospect theory, nudges, etc.)

Week 4-6: Methods. Primarily Natural Field experiments and Data Analytics with behavioral data -> We will be building further on Data Analytics skills in the Winter Quarter in Tandem with Oeconomica’s R/Python Sessions.

Week 7: Synthesis, Literature Review and Next Steps (which concepts to focus on in our study)

Winter: Experimental Design Finalization and Execution/ Data Analytics with R

Fall: Writing-up the research paper and analyzing the findings from the experiments with R and hypothesis testing.
