Hello everyone, please join us for another Middle East History and Theory (MEHAT) workshop this Wednesday, May 2nd from 1:30-3:00 PM in Pick Hall, Room 218. Our speaker will be Kara Peruccio, a PhD candidate in NELC who will be presenting a chapter of her dissertation. The chapter is entitled “Bad Romance: Toxic Masculinity and Problematic Relationships in Italian and Turkish Women’s Novels, 1923-1933,” which will be part of her dissertation entitled “Womanhood Mediterranean Style: Authoritarianism and the Politics of Fiction in Italy and Turkey, 1919-1935.” Her discussant will be Claire Roosien (NELC/History). If possible, please try to read the attached paper before attending so we can all provide fruitful feedback. Finally, Native Foods sandwiches and beverages will be served.
Hope to see you all there,
