Dr. Mirmira received the Albert Renold Award at the 2023 American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions in San Diego, CA.

This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Mirmira’s outstanding achievements in mentoring and fostering scientific communities to enhance diabetes research. Over his career, he has trained 13 PhD or MD-PhD students and 30 postdoctoral fellows. He is currently Director of the Translational Research Center at the University of Chicago.
