2/12 Professor Kira Thurman @ TAMEW

Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are all doing well. We are excited to announce the next workshop session, co-sponsored with the Sound and Society Workshop, will welcome Professor Kira Thurman, Assistant Professor of History and German at the University of Michigan. The session will be held next Wednesday February 12 at 4:30 PM in the John Hope Franklin Room (SSD 224). 
Professor Thurman will discuss the introduction to her book Singing Like Germans: Black Musicians in the Land of Bach, Beethoven, and BrahmsProfessor Alice GoffAssistant Professor of German History and the College, will provide commentary. The paper is currently available on our workshop website and canvas page.
After the workshop, Professor Goff has been kind enough to host a dinner at her apartment. We will be ordering the catering for this meal in the next few days and there are still a few open spots available, so if you are interested in attending this dinner please RSVP by the end of tomorrow and include any dietary restrictions you have.
We are looking forward to a wonderful workshop and hope to see you there.
