Roy Kimmey @ TAMEW on November 17, 4:30-6:00 pm CST on Zoom

Dear Colleagues,

Please join the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop next Wednesday, November 17th from 4:30-6:00 pm CST for our fifth session of Fall Quarter 2021. We are excited to have Roy Kimmey, PhD candidate in History at the University of Chicago, who will be presenting his dissertation chapter, “Labor on the Line: Time, Work, and the New (Romani) Socialist Person.” Patrick Lewis, Teaching Fellow in the Social Sciences, will serve as the respondent.

Roy’s paper is available on the TAMEW Canvas page, as well as on our website under the heading “Current Paper” (Password: HopeFranklin). Should you have any difficulties in accessing the paper, please contact us at either ehoffenberg@uchicago.edu or mradams@uchicago.edu.

Our meeting this week will be held over Zoom. Please be in touch with either ehoffenberg@uchicago.edu or mradams@uchicago.edu for information on how to join this virtual session.

Please note that there will be no meeting during week 9, November 24th, due to the holiday. The workshop will resume during week 11, on December 8th. Thank you all for your patience with the irregular TAMEW schedule this quarter! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone Wednesday.

Kind regards,

Madeline Adams and Elena Hoffenberg
