Dear Colleagues,
Please join the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop on Wednesday, February 2nd from 4:30-6:00 pm CST for our third session of Winter Quarter 2022. We are excited to have Dimitri Diagne, PhD student in History at UC Berkeley, who will be presenting his paper, “‘Among the French People’: The Departmentalization of Mayotte and the Colonial Politics of Inclusion.” Kyra Schulman, PhD student in History, will serve as the respondent.
This will be an in-person meeting with a capacity of 20 people (location TBA). We are also exploring a hybrid format for this and gauging interest in that option via this form. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the form linked here by the end of the day today.
We’ll accept responses to attend the in-person event on a first come, first served basis, after which we will begin a waiting list. That being said, if you are one of the first 20 respondents and your availability changes, please let us know in order to free up space for someone else. We will circulate Dimitri’s paper to those attending the event.
In accordance with university policy, masks will be required for this event. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at either ehoffenberg@uchicago. edu or mradams@uchicago.edu.
Kind regards,
Madeline Adams and Elena Hoffenberg
