Dear Colleagues,
Please join the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop next Thursday, March 31st from 4:30-6:00 pm CST for our first session of Spring Quarter 2022. We are excited to have Natalie Smith, PhD candidate in the History Department, who will be presenting her paper, “Producing Cleanliness: Labor in the Soap Factories of Marseille.” Hanna Nunes, PhD candidate in the Department of History, will serve as the respondent.
Natalie’s paper is available on the TAMEW Canvas page, as well as on our website under the heading “Current Paper” (Password: HopeFranklin). Should you have any difficulties in accessing the paper, please contact us at either ehoffenberg@uchicago.edu or mradams@uchicago.edu.
Our meeting this week will be held in the John Hope Franklin room, #224 in the Social Sciences Research Building. Please note that we are holding this workshop on a Thursday, rather than our typical Wednesday, in order to host prospective students visiting for History Day.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday!
Kind regards,
Madeline Adams and Elena Hoffenberg
