12/4 Professor Vance Byrd @ TAMEW

Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are doing well and had a lovely Thanksgiving. We will be having the final workshop of the autumn quarter next Wednesday December 4 at 4:30 PM in the John Hope Franklin Room (SSD 224). We are very excited to welcome Professor Vance Byrd, Associate Professor & Frank and Roberta Furbush Scholar in German, Grinnell College.
Professor Byrd will give a presentation entitled, “Restoration and Monument Making” related to of his current project on 19th century American and German battlefield artists’ depictions of national unity and emancipation. After the workshop, Professor Alice Goff has been kind enough to host a dinner at her apartment. We will be ordering the catering for this meal in the next day and there are still a few open slots available, so if you are interested in attending please RSVP by the end of the day and include any dietary restrictions you have.
We are looking forward to a wonderful workshop to close out the quarter.
