Please join the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop and the colloquium of the Committee on Environment, Geography, and Urbanization next Wednesday, November 1 from 4:00-5:30 pm for a special joint session. Our meeting will be held in the John Hope Franklin Room (Social Sciences Research Building, Room 224).

Next week’s presenter will be Julia Mead (PhD candidate, History), who will be sharing the dissertation chapter “Godspeed, Comrade: Czechoslovak Coal Miners Face the Market, 1989-1992.” Helena Ratte ( PhD candidate, Anthropology) will provide commentary.
