Please join us for the next session of the Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe workshops as we welcome our very own Alice Goff, Assistant Professor of German History and the College, for a panel and discussion on her new book The God Behind the Marble: The Fate of Art in the German Aesthetic State (University of Chicago Press, 2024).

The panel will feature:

Leora Auslander, Associate Chair, Department of Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity

Arthur and Joann Rasmussen, Professor of Western Civilization in the College and the Departments of Race, Diaspora & Indigeneity and History

Eleonora Gilburd, Associate Professor of History and the College

and Colin Jones, Professor Emeritus at Queen Mary University of London and Visiting Professor in the Department of History at the University of Chicago

We will meet on Wednesday, January 17, from 4:00-5:30 pm at the John Hope Franklin room (Social Sciences Research Building, Room 224). This will be a joint session with The Research in Art and Visual Evidence (RAVE) workshop.

A festive reception at the JHP room will follow after the discussion.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!
