About the Gender and Sexuality Studies Workshop

The Gender and Sexuality Studies Workshop (GSSW) is an interdisciplinary workshop committed to the development of critical perspectives on gender and sexuality. The workshop serves as a forum for discussing both graduate student papers as well as unpublished work from faculty and outside guests. This year (as in previous years) we are presenting a different theme–chosen by a faculty curator–for each academic quarter of the workshop.  Our faculty curators this year will be Profs. David Simon from English in the Fall, Kimberly Hoang from Sociology in the Winter, and Chase Joynt from the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality in the Spring. Graduate students are encouraged to present working chapters of dissertations, master’s theses, and papers that are being prepared for publication. Calls for abstracts will be distributed a month prior to the start of each quarter.
Workshops are held on alternate Tuesdays (even weeks) from 5:00 to 6:30 pm in the first floor seminar room of the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality at 5733 S. University Ave.
