My 2025 To-Do List
I had a bunch of ideas of things I wanted to do in 2025 before the holiday break and now the I'm back in the lab, I'm realizing I'm forgetting a bunch of them! So before they are all gone, here is a list of what I want to do - and in some cases will need to do at some...
What Else is on the Internets? – Bluey
My son is a huge fan of Bluey! Can't get enough. Cries for 30min when we turn off the TV and say byebye Bluey. He likes to sing the intro song, but can never get the shoutout in time. His Mom! Dad! Bingo! are always too early or too late. I tried to help him at some...

Penteon Plate loader is fried 11/26/24: The plate loader on the Penteon won’t move properly and we’ll need to service the unit. Agilent has been contacted and we’ll have the issue resolved asap. The Penteon itself is working fine otherwise, but you’ll need to run samples using 5mL tubes.
Quanteon issue 12/20/24:The instrument is not initializing and can’t be used at this time. We swapped the plate loader to the Penteon, so the Penteon is fully functional. Agilent tech support has been contacted ,but there are some Oracle issues to deal with before we can process the PO. We hope to have the issue resolved asap, but I’m unsure when we can get a service engineer on site at this time. The issue on the Quanteon has been resolved, but we’ll leave the plate loader on the Penteon for the time being. At this time, Quanteon users will need to run samples in 5mL tubes manually. 03/11/25 update: We’ve had some issues with some parameters in the new procurement system that made it impossible to send the NovoSmpler Q unit out for repairs. This has now been resolved and we’re back on track to have it repaired. It will need to be shipped back to the manufacturer, so it will take some time still.
03/17/25 AriaIII issue: Very strange computer glitch where a Windows upgrade wiped out everything on the C and D drives. We contacted tech support and are waiting for a service engineer to schedule a visit. Edit 03/27/25: We are expecting the service engineer to come in near the end of week 31/03. Update 04/07/25: The computer has been re-imaged and that issue is resolved. However, the compressor is not working properly and we’ll have it repaired shortly.
