Welcome to the quarterly newsletter for the University of Chicago’s Department of Music workshop series, EthNoise!
EthNoise! is an interdisciplinary workshop founded in the Department of Music, and supported by the University of Chicago Council on Advanced Studies. For nearly thirty years, it has fostered a scholarly community that shares and supports diverse projects at the intersections of music, dance, and culture across geographic regions and historical periods. The workshop is a forum for graduate students, faculty, and guests to share and discuss ongoing research projects. Our mission is to foster dialogue about recent research on the interactions between music, language, and culture.
