Bigfoot

Droplet-based cell sorter with both traditional and spectral capabilities

Home » Cell Sorters » Bigfoot

Overview

The Bigfoot is a beast of a cell sorter.

Features include:

  • 5 spatially separated lasers (349nm, 405nm, 488nm, 561nm and 640nm) and 55 fluorescent parameter detectors
  • Spectral Unmixing available but not required
  • Faster plate deposition for 96 well plate, 384-well plate, and 1536-well plate – can go through a 96-well plate in ~10 seconds
  • 200 um scatter resolution
  • Automated startup and calibration
  • Encased in biosafety cabinet
Use Traditional Compensation

No filter limitation to capture emission from any fluorophore
Smart bandpass design – larger bandpass filters for commonly used fluorophores

Use Spectral Unmixing

Instrument optimized for spectral unmixing
Used for high-end cell sorting
Some controls available in the instrument library

Sample Preparation Tips

For a complete guide on preparing samples for the traditional sorters, see the sorter section of the FAQ page (located under the About menu)
