My 2025 To-Do List

by | Jan 7, 2025 | Chronicles of a SRL | 0 comments

I had a bunch of ideas of things I wanted to do in 2025 before the holiday break and now the I’m back in the lab, I’m realizing I’m forgetting a bunch of them! So before they are all gone, here is a list of what I want to do – and in some cases will need to do at some point in 2025:

  • CAT Facility Town Hall – quarterly meeting with CAT Facility users where we’ll present new instrument, services, tools, whatever, for about 15min and use the rest of the time to answer any questions and discuss the future orientation of the core;
  • Training Material – it’s been a minute since we uploaded new material on our YT channel. I need to do the Compensation II video (manual comp on the instrument / impact of voltage on spillover matrix / revisiting autospill), a series on data analysis (data binning / basics of data analysis / FSCxSSC / data presentation for publication /  various assays), DIY instrument maintenance and repairs (laser alignment. mostly?), CytoFLEX tutorial (we received a CytoFLEX, you should know how to use it!)
  • New service: the Integra Assist Plus system. We got funds for a very neat pipetting system that will allow our users to automate some of the more tedious workflows in sample preparation. Main applications will be all things multiplexing and master prep for high end flow cytometry panels. I still need to figure out how we will recharge and how this is actually going to work!
  • New Scheduling system: I’m not sure it’s my place to announce this but there’s going to be an overhaul of the scheduling system for all the core facilities. The new system should provide the same features as we have on iLab and hopefully provide a better experience for our users. I can tell you that on my end, billing will be much easier!
