Gross

1. If the container or requisition asks for GROSS EXAM ONLY, please honor the request:
   1. Measure and describe aggregate of tissue in three dimensions.
   2. Inspect for any lesions.
   3. In the absence of lesions, do not submit tissue. (In the presence of lesions, see below).
   4. Make sure that the case is accessioned as a GROSS ONLY specimen (please ask Techs).
2. If the container or requisition does NOT specify gross only:
   1. Measure and describe aggregate of tissue in three dimensions.
   2. Inspect for any lesions.
   3. In the absence of lesions: submit representative sections in 1 cassette.
   4. If lesions are present: submit entirely.
