Triage & Gross

1. Submerge in formalin and gross same-day.
2. Measure surface of skin and depth of excision.
3. Describe any epidermal lesions and closest extent to margin.
4. Ink deep margin.
5. If  3 mm in diameter or less, submit as is.
6. If 4 – 6 mm in diameter, bisect and submit cut surface down.
7. If greater than 7 mm in diameter, trisect and place cut surfaces down.  Place no more than 3 slices per cassette.
