- Weigh and measure in three dimensions.
- Dissect superficial fat from node.
- Serially section node at 2 mm intervals, perpendicular to long axis of node. Document any areas of necrosis, hemorrhage, fibrosis, or discoloration.
- Submit entirely (no more than 2 sections per cassette).
- Submit fat in a separate cassette.
